The secret to having a garden that is free of these creatures is the color yellow. They are attracted to the color yellow. All you have to do is get out away from your garden a little and plant some yellow sunflowers. The sunflowers attract the stink bugs and in the fall you will be rewarded with some wonderful seeds you can roast and eat.

To stop sand fleas from coming in your home you need to go around the house on the outside with regular table salt. The fleas hate the salt and you are bug free. It also helps to wash your pets bedding in vinegar and rinse your pet in vinegar to keep the fleas from being attracted to them.

Mosquitoes can send you in the house quicker than any other pest. You can purchase poisonous sprays to rub into your skin to keep them from biting, but you do not want to put these poisons on the skin of small children that might place their hands in their mouth. So you can take a wet wash cloth and pour a small amount of vanilla on it to create a repellant for them that is non-toxic. The vanilla must be one hundred percent pure vanilla and not an imitation.

Another wise little tip for the garden comes straight from your kitchen. Use all of your used coffee grounds to place around your tomato plants. These grounds feed the plants and encourage fruit production. You can also weaken the coffee with water to create a mild liquid fertilizer to use on your indoor plants.
